About the Data You Share With Us
1. Account Information
By creating a Lepius account, you provide us with your full name and email address. After creating an account, you are required to verify your medical license to fully use the service. To verify your license, you must either provide images of your medical license and identity card, or verify your email address from your institution. After verification the images of your medical license and identity card will be removed immediately. During verification, we use multiple data sources including the NPI Registry provided by NIH, to verify you own valid MD/DO certitifcation and collect basic information that are 1) your medical specialty/subspecialty, 2) the location of your license.
2. Profile Information
After you finish the verification, you can update your profile including your experiences, your current workplace, education, medical expertise, certifications and others. By doing this, you will be able to let users find you more easily and know more about you. This information can also be used to customize promotions and provide you with more helpful content. Any edited or deleted information on your profile is removed from the database right away.
3. Your Activities on Lepius
The drafts you wrote and posts you publish are saved in our database. Published posts, communications in the service, bookmarks, emails we sent you and history of any action you do can be collected and used by us. The range of usage of the data includes: analyzing usage patterns, developing machine learning algorithms for additional service, providing of statistical information for research or industrial purposes, promotional usage of public content. This activities will make Lepius become a better service and provide users with better experience.
When you delete drafts or published posts, we keep the data for one month in case you want to restore them because of unintended deletion. After this period all deleted posts are removed from our system.
4. Web Access Logs
To provide better user experience, we collect IP address, device information, and web pages you visit on Lepius. Such information can also used to provide users with better security, preventing accesses from unexpected location or device and letting users know when and where the account was accessed.

We share or disclose non-personal data, such as aggregated information like the total number of times people engaged with a post, demographics, the number of people who clicked on a particular link or voted on a poll, the topics that people are writing about in a particular location, some inferred interests, or reports to advertisers about how many people saw or clicked on their ads.
